Halloween

This week lots of people will make the preparations for the second most celebrated party around the world (after Christmas),which winning billions of dollars every year. I'm talking about Halloween. But, appart from customs and costumes, everybody knows his origin? The term of 'Halloween' becomes of the name ‘All Hallows Eve’ which means the evening before ‘All Saints Day’. This finally ended in the actual name of Halloween.  This day is celebrated on October 31st  and also is characterized by a series of customs and activities. On one hand, one custom very  known is named  ’trick-or-treating’. This custom dates back to the Middle Ages when poor people went door to door in Hallowmas (November 1), to receive food in return for prayers for the dead on All Souls Day. The children of today  go door to door asking for food, in this case they want candies. On the other hand, the custom of wearing costumes and masks in Halloween goes back to the Celtic traditions of attempting to appease evil spirits. Now we know something more about their history. Thus, all that we need is wear a costume that  scary (or not) and go out to ask for candies and spend a good time with our friends.

Man of the edge

A man wants to jump through the window. The reasons are because he lost his job and his girlfriend leave him by another person who was more money than him. Thus, he decides to attempt against his own life. 

When people see him on the edge of the window ready to jump, a police man go faster to talk with him and he asked to the man why he want to jump. When the policeman knows the reasons, he offers him one job. The man accept and some time later (when he gains some money) his ex-girlfriend wants to come back with him and he rejects her because he is with another girl. 

When we are young...

The modern teenagers of today are strongly influenced by their friends. And if they have the hard lucky that their friends are one bad influence, probably they will be like them. I say that because I've passed this moment in my live. When I was 16 I usually spent my time with my friends and to have a good time they smoked and drank. I knew that this conduct was bad, but I wanted integrate myself in the group, thus to not be the only one who didn't make this things I did it. And now I know that is the worst thing that someone can do because if somebody wants to be your friend , he doesn't care if you smoke or drink, the only thing that it is important is to realize that to be his friend you don’t need to be like them. When we are young we only think that the cool people do this things and our happiness depends of this. But it is not true and we are conscious of this although we don't want to see that.  For finish , to stay healthy and kicking bad habits when you going out, you only need to have a very strong personality and never do things that you don’t want.

Comparative paragraph: Sex Pistols vs Mstislav Rostropovich

Today it is too easy  create one song and  continuously we discovered new musical genres. But my entry of this week is dedicated only in two big genres: The rock group of Sex Pistols and the classical music of Mstislav Rostropovich. To start, in terms of the instruments that each one uses, we can see that this group of rock creates their songs with an electric guitar and drums to do the rhythm while the classical music of Mstislav Rostropovich employs a cello and with an orchestra they use another kinds of instruments like the violin or the contrabass. Regarding of the voice, the rock music tends to employ  high and sharp voices while the classical music usually is not accompanied with a background voice. The clothes that both genres wear are completely different because in  one hand, the rock group usually wear casual clothes and on the other hand, the classical music employs very smart clothes (although we have seen some rock groups like The Rolling Stones that used costumes in their concerts). Appart from the opposite things, there are points in comun. For example, they employ musical notes to create their songs. In short, there are very different genres but at the end both are music which do our lives more bearable according to the taste of each person.

What would you do if...

Once time in our life we have imagined what we would do if we have a different life,where we were millionaires. Throughout my life I’ve thought what I  would do if I won the lottery. So, my post today is especially dedicated to all I would do if I was billionaire.

 We suppose that  I earn 80 million of euros. To start, I’d buy one house on the beach, another in the countryside and another one to use it in the rest of the year. Big houses with swimming pool, stalls, games room, cinema,etc ... Secondly I'd buy cars, a lot of cars: Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini ... Third, and I think that is most important for me , I'd buy  clothes, all types and brand and make a very big closet. When I  have purchased everything that I want, I would travel around the world: New York, London, Caribbean, China, etc ... Apart from the material things, I would share this money with my family because they have been there for everything that I needed. In addition, I’d donate part of my  money to animal associations or simply those who truly need it. Even doing that, I think that probably I'd have 40 million euros and I’d invest some of that money to start a business for doing my money grow up (not for me) but to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren to have a family business.

But anything of that will happen, so it’s better to return to the real life, which is not so bad at all...

Opinion Paragraph

Smoking must be forbidden in all restaurants. Last night I went to have dinner with my best friend. We met at 9 o'clock in the front of the restaurant. When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes because we hadn’t booked. We talked about our day and finally we could enter in the restarant. After a couple of minutes we’ve noticed a very unpleasant smell of snuff. The man who was smoking didn't care if the smell annoyed us. I've  really upset and my friend too. I think that we aren't forced to endure unpleasant odors as the snuff and less when we are trying to eat. For this reason, I said to the man: Please, can you go out of the restaurant? I don't like this smell. The man looked me angry and said: I can smoke where I want, I don't have to go out for this stupid reason! When people saw the reaction of the man, they called the waiter  and  with very good manner he requested to the man to go out because smoking aren't forbidden in the restaurant unless it's disturb the customers. In conclusion, I think we must respect each person and sincerely, a restaurant isn't the right place to smoke and less If it disturb other people.

USA (third weekly practice)

For me, the best place is USA. I’ve never been in this country but I think that it’s a very good place to spend holidays and  if I have the opportunity to go there, I don’t think twice. Basically I love this country for their beautiful scenery and also for their lifestyle. I have always interested in it  because all the famous films and series that I watch is made there. For example: Castle, Iron Man, two and half man, the walking dead,etc... I want to visit each corner of this country. Places like New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Hollywood, California, Florida... although they are overnight journeys. For do that I can’t lead a large suitcase because it would be very uncomfortable for me. I know that it could be a tiring journey but I don’t care, I need to enjoy it as much as possible. Apart of the places, I want to visit one university and see with my own eyes how exiting is to be one cheerleader or simply watch a match  of American football and check if it’s really as they show in the movies. For this reasons I’m studying this degree, to improve my English and know more about their culture and finally to apply my skills when I go to an english country, so I hope to go to the USA as soon as possible. 

Giant's Causeway (Práctica no evaluable)

The Giant's Causeway is an amazing place which is situated in Northern Ireland. If we see the photo, we can observe a lot of blocks of basalt with a hexagonal form. They are surrounded by the sea and the water beat the blocks. Inside of many of them, the water are entered through the blow of it. Their colour are brown. It was daylight when someone took the photo and for this reason we can see sun rays in some blocks.

In short, if you love visiting landscapes and beautiful places, the Giant's Causeway is the ideal place to visit and also if you like the legends, this place have one very ancient and interesting.
